I recently decided to upgrade from my VPS to a budget dedicated server with Hivelocity. I did this because I saw that they were active here and seem to have a good track record. I contacted Kevin in Sales via chat and we worked out a deal for a Atom 1.6 server. There was a slight problem as he quoted me a price with 4GB of ram and the atom server could only handle 2GB but we worked it out.
The setup and billing were timely and I received my server sometime in the night (I do occasionally sleep!). I should add as a sidenote that I accidentally sent part of the payment to Kevin's personal paypal! Wooops! He took some extra time out of his day to refund it and straighten it out. When the server came it was exactly as I ordered and I began to migrate my site and data. This all went without incident. I got everything moved and changed the dns. Everything technically worked but was very slow.
Now before anybody jumps in and tells me that I have a budget atom server and I can't expect performance let me just say I KNOW that I am not using a high end server and i don't expect that for the price I am paying! I do however expect to be able to download at full capacity.
After some various speed and download test it seems that the bottleneck is the network?! I use litespeed web server with xcache for my gallery2 site and it was chugging along slowly. I tried to download a test file and voila i was getting 100k or less on my 20mb home connection.
I have talked with Hivelocity and have a ticket in at the moment. We will see what they say. My question for my fellow WHTers is do you have HV and if so what is your network performance like? I thought they had a good network?
I have included a 20MB test download for others to see if they are getting better results than myself. I hope it is not a routing issue to my house as that would definitely be a deal breaker for me on this server :-(

I've also included a inbound traceroute

Still not resolved, they have been active in troubleshooting but my issue remains. Very frustrating since the server was delivered today.

There's my traceroute. HiVelocity is a great company, they'll get it resolved, trust me. Just give them a bit of your patience.
