What's the best way to stop ddos attacks? Anyone I can contact and use who will help shut them all down? Someone who doesn't charge $800 a month or more? We don't get many but I would rather use someone who could monitor our server and help.
If you're being DDoS'ed, the best thing you can do is contact your datacenter /upstream provider and have them route the traffic away from you. Most providers offer something similar to this. A simple DoS can usually be killed off by a simple firewall/deny rule since a single IP usually cannot do much damage.
Include your full server config with OS and control panel if any.
There are some ways to reduce SYN FLOOD, however if ddos will me more than 20Mb/s it will be very hard to "fix" it on the server, datacenter help will be needed. However 5-10 Mb/s can be prevented manually.
