    Kernel Compile (minimal)

How do you go about getting hardware info so you know what drivers to compile in? I want to build a very small and fast loading kernel for this web server.

    I'm running CentOS 5.3

man dmesg - get the device types from the boot device probe. See: /var/run/dmesg.boot for a boot time snapshot.

    Paste your result of command:
    Code:
    lspci -n
to PCI device driver check page

And you'll get all minimal list of modules.
