I am currently (at this very moment ) backing up some client sites that will reside on a new server. Some of these clients use FrontPage extensions. Will all of the FrontPage extensions work when transfering it to the new server (backup from a Plesk server and restore to a cPanel server)? I'm not sure the FP extensions will work the same, especially on a server that is running another control panel which might be using a different version of FP.
Actually just backing up and re-uploading the content won't do the trick if your using special server extension features (sub webs, etc.) I believe. I think stuff like shared boarders, etc will work but not any server specific (ie FP mail settings).
The best thing would probably be to download then upload and then reapply permissions and recalculate all the webs. I'm not positive but the above is my best guess from what I know. Personally I can't stand FrontPage.

Hehe, well I'm not a FP guru myself, just have to do this for some clients.
When you say reapply permissions, you are refering to the permissions of files (CHMOD)? There's not too much I can do about that, as I can't go through every single file of every single site looking for files and directories which have different permissions then their default ones (unless I make a shell/perl script to do it for me ).

Yes, I understand that part lol. But some of my clients might actually have different FP webs on their web site, which cannot be reinstalled through the press of a button in WHM . I am planning on just restoring all www content via ftp to their new site on the new server, which I assume holds all of the FP information (webs and such). So I am thinking that hopefully be just enabling FP, any FP features they are using will magically work.
