I purchased a SSL Certificate from GoDaddy. I have a Dedicated Server through a different hosting company with WHM and Cpanel access. I have installed the Certificate and the Key using WHM. I have restarted the server and now what?
I see when i login via FTP that in the root directory there is a ssl folder. Inside i have certs and private folders. Inside are the keys and certification.
I need to have one page on my domain name secured. It's a form people fill out. In the browser it supposed to turn pink for the address in IE. Nothing happens so i dont know if i got it configured right.
Can someone help me with this? How do i make one of my files (pages) on my domain name secure?
What kind of SSL certificate did you purchase?
Did you include the url of the form that you need SSL for? For example: yourdomain.com/form or form.yourdomain.com?
My guess is he got the GoDaddy Premium SSL (EV) since he mentioned it is the only one that makes the address bar glow green. When you are viewing the page, are you making sure you put https:// in front of the page? You can use an .htaccess rewrite to make anything in /form/ to use SSL.
I just need one file to be secured...it's a form the fill out. I never specified anywhere while installing to point to this file so how can i set that up?
It was an example. Let's say you put the form in yourdomain.com/form. You would create a file .htaccess in something such as notepad with. Change YOURDOMAIN with your actual domain and upload the .htaccess file to that folder. IT will force anything in that folder to use SSL.
