Bad start at Hivelocity

yesterday I ordered a server after reading several good reviews about Hivelocity here on WHT. To be fair I got an awesome offer that no other decent provider would propose.
I got the server after more than 24hours. It is missing 500GB of the total amount of bandwidth, cPanel and the second disk drive.
I have emailed the manager who I made my order with and now im waiting for an answer.

Hey,

Your best bet is to contact their technical support guys because the manager probably won't be in for a few hours. How do you know how much bandwidth you have?

I'm curious as to how it would be missing 500GB of the total amount of bandwidth? I'm assuming this is an error with their welcome email probably because you technically cannot miss 500GB of bandwidth, this is an ongoing thing and you can probably hit it within your month of service.

Did you login to your server and see if there was a second drive? You can do this by typing in df -h in the ssh command prompt and likewise for cpanel you can check if your ip address is activated by going to verify.cpanel.net

I contacted a tech and he advised me to either send an email to billing or to my account manager which I did. I don't mind waiting.
when I ordered the form said 2000GB in the billing panel it says 1500gb.
The tech I chatted with confirmed all of the 3 issues. I verified cPanel and the missing HD myself too.

The techs should be able to sort the drive + CPanel out, but the bandwidth will probably need to be cleared by billing.

You should give a PM to the HiVelocity folks here. They always lurk and respond to threads.

Sorry to hear about the screw up, but I certainly wouldn't call a few technicalities that could easily be straightened out by sending a simple PM to their reps on these boards or by sending a ticket through their ticket system, a bad start.

If there was some kind of refusal to honor it before finally agreeing to it, then your thread topic may be justifiable.

People should at the very least try effective communication (which means waiting for responses to your inquiries and seeing how they will work to resolve your issue) before posting threads like this that can mislead people.

But as you can see, a HiVelocity rep posted to resolve this issue just 5 hrs after you created this thread. That's pretty good "message board" response time if you ask me (since this isn't even their ticket system).

I am confident that you will have a great experience with them.

This is a forum and I wanted to share my experience with its members. After all this is what WHT is about, isn't it?

OK, you can look at it that way, or you can look at it from a providers standpoint...

Why not contact us (us providers) instead of running to WHT thinking it is our official support helpdesk and posting here thinking it is going to bring a more immediate response. Any reputable provider will fix a problem with their service without the need to start a topic named "bad start at Hivelocity.

OK so your server was provisioned wrong, it happens. It's not like it caused you any downtime or something. You got started out on a rough foot, ok. Like you said yourself, you got offered an insane deal that no other reputable provider would probably match, so why bad mouth them?

Please understand that is not my intention, we share experiences in forums to give people an idea on what to expect. I would have posted a topic titled "great start at hivelocity" if it was

I was approached by a Hivelocity admin here on wht and lets hope it get fixed asap. My account manager didn't answer my email yet maybe his shift hasn't started yet.

Absolutely.

But like I said, wait until you have received a response or have resolved the issue before you give a review. You didn't even give them a chance to resolve any issues.

If this were a book. Would you like to hear a review of every page? Or would you rather I finish the whole book, then give a review of it?

I waited almost 2 yrs to give a review so you guys can see the whole picture. You waited almost 2 minutes...

I did contact a tech and he asked me to wait for a manager. now it has been almost 48hours since i ordered. I can always start with a little review and update the topic as it goes, people are different we do not all wait 2 years to write one
lets stick to the subject for now and enough with these comments please.
ps: will contacting them before make it "unhappen"? the answer is no, it still happened and as i stated before i though i might share the story
