    Root Access

budget is $2.60, lol. It's all i ahve ona prepaid mastercard, and i only need this for around a month.

I am asking for this because, I am looking to learn Linux Adminitration. I was going to use my old PC and put CentOS on it, but the computer doesn't turn on anymore.

You won't learn Linux Administration in about a month. =)
But check out the "Web Hosting Offers" section, I'm sure you can find a VPS at least under 5$.

I am aware of that, but I can still learn some stuff in a month. Plus maybe I'll get more money, and extend and upgrade. But i might have a host picked out already.

the ip alone costs about that much you wont be able to do much administration. some things require bandwidth to be used. and a minimal install centos takes almost every bit of that space

You need to make a higher budget. Usually Dedicated IP's cost a company $0.50-2.50 per month.

They would be losing a lot of money on your VPS.

Why not have someone look at that old PC. It might cost very little to get it back up. The problem could be a failed power supply, which isn't a big expense -- especially if a local repair shop has some used ones kicking around

Connect it by a switch, or hub or crossover cable to your main computer and you'll have the space and security you need to learn Linux -- and you aren't limited to a month.

Actually you can try Rackspace Mosso, the entry model has 256MB of RAM and costs 1.5c/hour, so with $2.60 you can use it for ~173 hours, not bad..

You can also try Eucalyptus for free at open.eucalyptus.com/wiki/EucalyptusPublicCloud, there are many limitations, but should suffice for your needs.

But after all, why don't you just download VirtualBox and install a copy of linux in it?
