Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz vs. Xeon 3040 ?
I saw that rapidswitch recently switched from offering Core 2 Duo 2.2Ghz to offering Xeon 3040.
I would have thought their old offering was better... which proccessor is actually the best?
Do you have the exact model for the C2D? Knowing that would help. Thanks.
No I don't. I asked at the time but they never replied to that question. They just said "Core2Duo 2.2GHz".
Well depending on the model of the Core2Duo my recommendation may go either way. Double check with the host as to what the model is, or what the FSB/Cache is. That should help us to narrow down the comparison.
A Core2Duo with a frequency of 2.2Ghz should be either E4500, T5900 or T7500 I believe
In fact it is a E4500.

So based on everything, not just clock speed, which is better?
Is it true that rapidswitch switched from a good product to a worse one?
It really can go either way, not taking into consideration the Overclocking.
So you're saying that the Xeon might be better, even though it's clocked about 20% lower?
If you were choosing a server, which would you go for?
I would go with the Xeon hence It's a server grade processor after all, and it also has more FSB than the Core2Duo.
i think Xeon is better. so thats what i would go for
