    Necessary?

Is it necessary to have the word "host" in the domain for your web hosting website?

No, it's not. There are plenty of hosts out that don't have the word host in them.

No, not neccessarily. If it's a single word, most times you can get away with it, but sometimes when you put host after it or before it, it will sound good, so it's really up to you whether to keep it or drop it.

No, its not mandatory. Its depends upon your choice to use it or not.

I personally don't think its necessary and see many great hosts with out the word "host" in their domain name.

Absolutely not. But, it's important to have a catchy name that will stick in a persons mind.

Of course it's not 100% needed.

Just choose a name that people will remember. There are too many "host" domains that people will remember yours.

The shorter and easy to memorize, the better.

Host domains are all over the internet, so 2 best option is to use a name that relates to you and your scene, and not host.com, like we and other as pear2pear do and so on.

With so many names around no need for "host".

If you think about it, most companies/brand names do not include the name of the industry they are in. That's not just a hosting phenomenon.

I imagine some names are "vanity" names - the proprietor's family members, etc. - but others are carefully thought up so as to stand out in the public's mind.

    Hello Advertiser123,

It is absolutely not a requirement. Try to develop a name that is memorable and work on branding the name from there. Let us know if you ever pick a name for your organization.

    Cheers,
