Problem with Virtual Server 2005 - Paying to fix
Hi guys,
This isn't exactly a hosting question, but WHT happens to house the biggest collection of Techs this side of the sun, so I figured if anyone will be able to rescue me - you guys could :-)
Short Version:
Long story short, I have a SBS 2003 machine running Server 2003 on a Virtual Server 2005 R2 VHD. The Virtual server won't talk to the network.
$50 if you can fix it :-)
Long version:
We have a physical Dell server here on site running Microsoft Small Business Server 2003. It was not configured by me - the person who did configure it no longer works for the company.
This SBS Server runs their AD, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, Exchange, SharePoint, and pretty much every other acronym you can think of. Doesn't run RRAS yet, but it has the 2nd nic in there ready for me to set up next week once more pressing issues are resolved.
Among its other various acronyms, it also runs Virtual Server 2005 R2 which currently runs a single Server 2003 Standard VSD, configured as their blackberry server.
Last week I kicked their WSUS in the pants and made it actually start pushing out updates (wasn't working previously) and the updates started happily pushing themselves out to the various machines on the network, including the VM'd Server 2003.
The previous Tech had configured this VM to have only a 5GB drive which suddenly found its self full - causing server 2003 to fall over. To alleviate the space issue, I moved the page file to a separate virtual drive (will expand primary volume later), but ever since this thing ran out of space, it has suddenly stopped talking to the network. It lists the network connection as connected, but it cannot ping the SBS Server, the router, or anything for that matter.
All it gives me is a daft 'destination host unreachable' error on pings.
I am going mad trying to fix it, but know a person more experienced with VS2005 could probably fix it in a few minutes. As it is super late here and we need it fixed yesterday, I am happy to pay someone $50 USD to quickly sort it out for me*.
Before you ask, the only way I can access it is via the VS2005 web management page from the SBS Box. You will need to RDP into the SBS box and load the web panel from there.
If you are around, and know VS2005 like the back of your hand, let me know.
(*do note that I say sort it out, not just have a look. lol)
Kind regards,
~Adam

The SBS box is on and operational. The VM'd server 2003 will start, run, and let me log in (via the web console). It just won't actually talk to the network.

@JFOC - access is via to rdp into the sbs box, then use the web console to acess the VM. The vm its self isn't talking to the network so can't be accessed remotly (if it did, it would mean my problem is fixed. lol).
