    Question ERROR: One or more of your nameservers did not respond


    I've just got a vps with centos5.3 using webmin and virtualmin. I'm just a beginner. Have setup bind with 4 nameservers. ( ( ( (

    I've made domain secondary using ( as master nameserver in control panel.

    When I do DNS test via

    I get the following error:

    DNS servers responded: ERROR: One or more of your nameservers did not respond:
    The ones that did not responded are:

    Where did I go wrong in configuring BIND?

    Double-check the names at the registrar and make sure you have entered hostnames and IP addresses correctly

    Try contacting your provider and have them double check everything as well.

    Also make sure that your setup at everydns is correct.

    And, that the zone has gotten loaded. It may be that they use scheduled reloads and it has not gotten loaded as a new batch yet.

    Oh, and that they can pull zones from you ns1.

    It would seem that your settings at the registrar are correct because would not otherwise know about the everydns servers.
