Bing! Microsoft is annoying sometimes!
I was watching some television the other day, which I don't do on a regular basis… and I had noticed that Bing! came up as a sponsor. I didn't really pay much attention to it, then during the next commerical it came up again.
Then during the television program they mentioned it again, not much further into the program it went to commercial and played the Bing commerical 2x in a row.
Is Microsoft overdueing themselves here?
To me they are already stepping foot in Google's territory, sure competition is good, but why does Microsoft have to put they're bit foot into EVERYTHING? Not only that, but annoy the heck out of me when I am watching the TV that I normally watch for 2 hrs a week.

In a competitive market even if they grab a small percentage of users it will add up to their profits. Take any product line and you will find brands positioned at different levels. They need not necessarily compete with the best selling brands but may still get a significant percentage of the market.

Its what Microsost do best - They have a go at getting as much market share... of every type of market they can. And most of the time fail miserably. I haven't anything against them in fact, I'm using Windows 7 right now but I do think that they should stick to their own game.

Lol-I think they're overdoing it-I quite like Bing, actually. I am a big Google user.
I like their interface and how they innovated from the old and slow Microsoft/Windows(?) Live to something better like this. They should have started sooner.

They are just desperate to be competing with Google.
Its just they think they can still catch up.
Lately I have been reading this book "The Google Story"
Its amazing and I realize that Microsoft definitely will do anything to take on Google. Its the multibillions that make the internet world so attractive and the fact that Google rules over it and not Microsoft

google have been going into every nook of internet business, because their business IS internet.
microsoft's was operating systems, and office software. but, they feel the ******* need to monopolize everything related to i.t..
and google's investigation has to do much about how chummy microsoft was with the previous administration and their relevant departments of trade, than a real monopoly issue.

Bing is indeed running a lot of commercials. Fairly innovative ones, too, IMO (albeit arguably annoying).

So you have no problem when Google Wave comes out, and they start pushing everything in to the cloud and hosting it also so hardly anyone will need your hosting?
Google is pushing clean in to Microsoft's territory also with Google Docs, Google Chrome Browser, and soon the Google OS.
BTW not sure why you think search or internet isn't in Microsoft's business when they had search on MSN.com back in 98 and were offering Internet products/services before Larry & Sergey even met.

Well it doesn't annoy me that much. I've tried Bing out but its not for me. I'll stay a google user for now. It will take years for Microsoft to actually be in the race for the best search engine and by then god knows what amazing-ness Google will be up to

When Google turns Wave into full fledged hosting, you're going to be feeling a little crappy when they put you and the rest of us out of business with free unlimited hosting ....
Google innovating is great, but to be be slamming Microsoft saying it's trying to monopolize everything when in fact its losing market share in home computers, servers, as well as the live search engine was beginning to lose market share, not to mention windows mobile is laughable at best on a mobile phone. (iPhone,G1 anyone)
Google doesn't need any praising. Last time I checked, they are laying off up a lot more employees at the redmond HQ of Microsoft then Google is due to to these hard economic times.
So seriously, before Google ends up owning the world and has no competition, let Microsoft run their commercials.
Seriously, we all think Google is so great because they continue to innovate and improve. What happens when they don't have any competition? They wont innovate. They will lay off all of their developers, and will pocket our $$ from their gazillions they pull in from advertising.
/End Rant.

I haven't seen the ads yet. Is Bing really a big improvement over live.com? I haven't tried it yet.
