Helo, I sent mass mail from vBulletin forum and I want to see status of those mails via ssh. I mean, I need to see how many mails is sent well, how many of them are still sending e.t.c
or let's set questions like this. Someone is sending a lots of email from the server and I need a way stop mails. I use sendmail
You can tail the email server log and see the emails going out,
The command mailq would also show you the email messages currently in the queue,
You might want to check your vbulletin 'from' address first. After this, depending on your type of mail server, try searching this in the log file.
eg : grep 'from address' /var/log/exim/mainlog
and obtain the mail delivery ID.
Once this ID is obtained, it should be a matter of simply searching the log using it.
eg: grep ID /var/log/exim/mainlog
If you need the count,
grep ID /var/log/exim/mainlog | wc

The above commands given by logicsupport would work only if you're using Exim. Since they have Sendmail MTA, you will have to use mailq and /var/log/maillog
