One of the few complaints about the iPhone that I have is related to email and how it won't support standard protocols for PUSH.

The iPhone is great its a big help for any type of business. Anyone who dislikes the iPhone for anything other then cost probably has had one. I'd say go for it, you wont regret it.

The iPhone is really more of a fashion accessory than anything else.

The reason its called "iPhone 3G S" is because the type of pricks who go for it like everyone to know what their carrying, I'm taking about people who say "I have an 80GB iPod touch" instead of simply "I have an iPod" yes, the people everyone wants to punch in the face.
I could tell you a joke about UDP. But I'm not sure you would get it!

had the iphone and iphone3g, and they were both terrible, battery life is rubbish and you cant even carry a spare battery for when it does die.

I have a blackberry storm, get 3-4 days outta it, including quite a lot of calls, and I carry a spare battery when going anywhere so i know im always safe

    .
What are the bits it can do that you like? Are you sure it doesn't do stuff that you need it to?

I got a wife one for her birthday, and she does like it. However, the pretty poor Bluetooth support is a pain. Unless they have changed it, you can't connect to other devices - only headsets I believe. The camera quality is poor at the best of times, and there is no flash.

I was thinking about one, but I ended up going with a Blackberry as I already have an iPod touch. I'm yet to be convinced that anything other than a physical qwerty keyboard is that practical for business use.

I cannot get more then 12 hours around with my Storm and you are the first person I've ever met to actually CARRY that spare battery around with you. Most of the people who complain about the iPhone not having a seperate battery doesn't even take advantage and carry an extra battery for their phone, go figure .

Battery life isn't really an issue any more considering the abundance out outlets to plug phones in, charging the car in the phone is made simple via "car charger", and "case chargers" are also a going fad as well now.

Anyways, the battery life in the 3G s has been improved significantly.

When it comes to interface and ease of use, iPhone has every phone beat hands down. With the APP store, the iPhone is capable of doing near anything. The APP store with the BlackBerry is "rubbish" in comparison.

The new iPhones are supposed to support push technology.

I would recommend avoiding Sprint... Maybe when it goes to Verizon it will be better.

I've been through BlackBerry, Palm, Sidekick a lot...

I've never came to "love" any of them. Sidekick is the best I've liked so far.

From the time I've used friends iPhones, I'm in love.

Sprint is fine.. Their CS has improved greatly and the coverage is also pretty good here.

I remember when I first got in two years ago, there were 20-30 minute waits, now it only take anywhere from a few seconds to a couple minutes. Sprint has done some improvement - give them some credit

I'm sure they have great coverage down there since Sprint is based out of Kansas. I've had them in the past and everything was great til the merge with Nextel then it went downhill from there.

Unfortunately, I'm already running iPhone OS 3.0 and there has been no updates to the mail application in terms of push support. Right now, it still only supports Yahoo and Exchange push.

Oh, I didn't know that. I thought I saw in the keynote a push email from gmail, but I guess I was wrong.

Rumor has it that AT&T may announce price cuts for service plans this month -- potentially.

Keep an eye out and go from there.

Maybe you don't like it because of everyone else having one? But see, that's silly... because it's obviously the most superior phone in the US market offering the best blend of ease of use, and actual functionality.

I thought it was funny someone mentioned the Pre. The first thing that comes to mind is Sprint, and not in a good way. I'd MUCH rather have ATT then Sprint.

My preferred order of networks, Verizon>ATT.....................SPRINT

But I give up on Verizon getting an iPhone.

    ATT, here I come

They're really good here in Chicago as well - pretty much the best, well here in the suburbs, at least..

Agreed. I personally think it's overhyped. I'll stick to my BlackBerry.
