Question FDCservers.net NOW ? Review needed

    Hello, WHT

Please, let me know if anybody have experience with fdcservers.net dedicated servers, At this time ?

    * 100Mbit Unmetered Servers
How you can expect average throughput on outbound transfer ?
Or how bandwidth usage monthly in FDC with 100Mbit Unmetered Servers ?
    Thanks

    Hi,

Are you referring to their shared connection? If so, I believe you can expect up to 20TB per month. We have a few machines there and don't see any problems at all.

With 100Mbps they say you can use about 50Mbps during peak hours, and 100Mbps during off-peak hours.

are you sure about that? that would mean during offpeak hours not a single dedicated server that your sharing with is using any connection.

but yeah there nice. I felt there support is a bit lacking but there servers are rather fast for the price

yes that is what we`ve been saying however for last few months there has been so much bandwidth overhead 24x7 that customers should have no issues pushing 100Mbps 24x7.
Further more we`re adding 40Gbps in July and will most likely make it official that customers can max out their 100Mbps ports 24x7 then

thats nice to hear. will that be increasing prices of all servers? I think the reason you guys are doing so well is the shared unmetered etc servers.

no there will be no price hikes.

As for the "shared" that is really not the case anymore since people can max out their ports 24x7

Well technically it is still shared since there is no full 100Mbit of transit allocated for every single customer. If you really are going to call it 'dedicated' then be very sure that that 100Mbit is available for everyone at all times, even if all of a sudden everyone decides to start using their full connection at the same time.

Anyway these additions sound great...and would definitely be a boost for sales.

I have no problems with them since my transition to FDC two months ago. The greatest thing has to be the fact that they throw in cPanel and all the goodies for free along with up to 60 IPs. That's the big things that hooked me on top of the 100MBPS unmetered

I've had servers with FDC for about 2-1/2 years. No network issues, and their support is some of the best I've ever dealt with.

No problems here either. Great support, great prices, great network.

I got two $199/month 100mbit shared servers, and you can definitely max out 100Mbit without a performance hit.

The only thing is that you may expect FDC to ask you to reduce your bandwidth usage if you really use 100Mbit 24x7 all the time (30TB/month) if you are on a shared plan. There was a thread about this a few months ago.

My usage only peaks to 100mbit at busy times, it's about ~50-60mbit on average.

Seems like you're forgetting about co-located clients.

Can only max out 60mbps peak here.

Been hosting with FDC for the past 6 years. Support has vastly improved, tho we have not needed it for a good while now. Server has pushed out 363 GB in past 48 hours.

Can provide domain to mods @ WHT if needed for verification.
