Access Remote desktop form only 1 IP

Hi there,

I have a veyr basic question, hope someone can help me.

I am currently accessing Serers through remote desktop (windows 2003). To be on the safe site, i like to allow only 1 IP to access through remote, even better would be through one specfic domain or subdomain.

I have already changed the port number, but still like to have this additional feature.

Thank you

Nick

Hi

You can setup the windows firewall to allow access to the RDP port by 1 ip address. Be careful you don't lock yourself out...

You could also change the RDP port from its standard port to one only you know. Both should be employed as a tactic against hackers... (google for the Registry settings needed for this)

Thanks

can i set firewall to access by domain address instead of IP ?

and is this the only option ?

cause my windows firewall is off as default, since it provoking my other apps, and makes them not run optimal

You could still change the port of RDC.
