Colo in San Jose or SF

Hi,

We are looking for 1-2 racks either in San Jose or San Francisco (or anywhere in between). Initially looking for about 25 amps of power and 10Mbit of bandwidth should do for now.

Does anybody have experience here? Price is an issue, looking for the low(er) budget segment.

Thanks,

You can try 250 Stockton, or Market Post Tower. 250 Stockton wins price wise by far...

I'd talk to Layer42 in Santa Clara, I think they'd be a perfect fit for your application.

There's a pretty broad range of availability - you can do your own colocation and data center real estate search via our website at www.wiredre.com/data-center/. If you ever have customers visit your site, or need remote hands, I'd stay away from 250 Stockton, but it is very cheap. Layer42 is generally capacity constrained, so if you go there, you won't likely be able to grow, but they could definitely do a cab or two. 200 Paul has several firms and lots of availability, but there are good and bad. UL is loosing customers, as is XO.

You can do your own search via our website at www.wiredre.com/data-centers/.

Bandcon can help you out, or even Telx.

Contact dannys@bandcon.com

Equinix has quite a few options in the San Jose area...

Telx has a ton of space at 200 Paul, and ColoServe and Navisite have some, but the latter are both a bit capacity constrained. Devil is in the details - most of these sites also have technical limites, depending on your goal (like single-generator backup). 200 Paul is first generation space and can have heat issues. If you are only talking a couple U, and build in geographic redundancy, then no worries. Just don't expect to start taking down private cages. On the good side, 200 Paul has numerous connectivity options ($250 XC fees). Lastly, there are a range of new developments in the works in SF that will likely loosen up the supply over the next 12 months...stay tuned.

Similar to Market Post Tower, Valley Exchange in Milpitas probably has lots of room.

Valley Exchange was full last I heard. MPT might have space; 3fn was there and, well, they shouldn't be there anymore.

MPT has space for a reason: everyone is moving out (for good reason, that building sucks) and their jacking pricing through the roof. $24/sqft? No thanks.

$24 is in the price range for the Bay Area. Especially in a well connected, centrally located building.
