Speed Tests
Anyone know of a very fast place to test the speed of a server on a Cogent line? Right now I just have 1 machine on the 100 mbs and I would like to see the max I can pull down.
Can someone please provide a file to download on one of your servers on Cogent network? One close to Los Angeles and far away would be great.
Also, if anyone knows of a fast non-cogent server to download from?
Thanks in advance

ftp2.freebsd.org is probably going to be your best bet for an extremely fast pipe. I know it's full gigabit on Verio's backbone, so it should be able to stress your connection rather well.

Do a 'wget' for this file, ftp://ftp.uu.net/uumap.tar.Z
Many people here sometimes use it as a speed test...
