Question

Has the economic recovery started?

The (U.S.) stock market is up, and some economic indicators are looking up. In your opinion, has the economic recovery started?

Depends on what happens with the GM bankruptcy. I do believe it's struggling to rebound.

VERY well summarized, Steve, especially the last sentence.

It didn't affect us down south as hard as other places but I have seen a turn for the better lately.

I would say it's not quite on the way back up yet, but I'm pretty confident it won't continue to fall as sharply as it was previously. Like Steve said, a lot of it will depend on the outcome of this GM debacle.

A lot of experts are still saying that it will continue to get worse, "it's only a matter of time...".

IMO, it isn't recovering but should get better by 2011 I think it is? GM is in the process of restructuring, hopefully the new GM is better then the old. The US is just getting its self in more and more debt... Maybe and if the war is over we may see some change

The only way we can pay off the debt is massive inflation. If we devalue our currency, the debt will also be devalued. It's already started, they've been printing money like mad... ah the downside of fiat currencies.

I still believe we have farther to stink down in this hole before we begin to see a real rebound..

It seems like more and more cancellations are coming in with people "restricting their business", or "getting rid of less popular websites", or simply not being able to "afford the service any longer"

Nice observations. A tightening of the belt, eh?

I think its definitely too soon to say whether or not the economy is on the rebound. It will be quite some time before we see the full effects of the recession.
