Question

FutureHosting Dallas Customers - Can you comment?

Anyone with future hosting in the Dallas DC node which was rebooted yesterday, can you comment on if your VPS time is off by 6 hours. I was able to have the correct time zone prior but am now hearing the time zone can not be changed by VPS and must remain on the nodes timezone. The weird thing is the DC is in Dallas yet the timezone is 6 hours behind EST. This creates an issue with cron jobs and e-mails being stamped 6 hours prior upon receipt and being jumbled/lost with other messages.

Thanks for any comments.

I was caught off guard a little bit by the tech I originally spoke with (just left scratching my head). Turned out he is a new(er) tech so I have to cut him some slack. At least he picked a good company to work with .

It was just one node that was affected luckily but not luckily it was mine. I keep it monitored every 30 seconds from triadtelecom's monitoring service so within a minute of the outage I knew, spoke with Arun via chat and he was already aware of the situation so I knew it would be all good from that point. Within an hour or so I was back and I really can't be mad at the outage. This makes 2 hours of downtime in 6 months that my monitoring service has caught. That to me is a good enough uptime for anyone.
