Looking for a powerfull server from reliable company

I'm looking for something like:
- 8Gb RAM (minimum, 16Gb would be better)
- 350Gb HD (by that, I mean 2x350Gb configured in RAID, so I’m left with 350Gb usable) (more GB is even better)
- 2 Quad Core CPU
- Lots of bandwidth (unmetered maybe, depending what the cap is)
- Lots of IPs (64IPs or even 128)
- Somewhere in the north east of North America would be nice.

There are so many companies with so many deals, it’s hard to know if they are reliable and which one is better. So I’m hoping you guys can guide me with your experiences.
Of course I’m willing to pay the money, but hoping to have a good deal.

Thanks

Yes I just looked there and many of them seem to have good deals, but I don't know these companies. That's why I'm looking for advice, are some of these companies more reliable than other, have a better service, etc? Or maybe they are all good? That's why I would like to have some comments on these companies and why you think one is better than the other.

Thanks for you replies.

Are these managed or unmanaged boxes? So your looking for a half of a class C? what's your application for these IP's? Also how much bandwidth? Depending on the bandwidth, you're probably looking somewhere between $350 to $500+ per month.

Unmanaged is ok.
Not sure what a class C is.
This server will be used to create many VPS which will have their own IPs.
Bandwidth should be 10TB or something close to it, of course I will not need 10TB at startup, but it will be growing fast, so I want to be sure I have enough bandwidth.

a class C is 254 IP addresses.

192.168.0.0/24 = class C for example
which means you get to use 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.254

here check this out : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classful_network

this should help you understand.

It's not an easy task to pick a provider especially one that fits your definition and expectations. But if you spend some time reading reviews from real customers, you'll have a much better chance finding the right one. I recommend using the search button here in WHT and type in: review. You have a lot of reading ahead of you

Best

By 2 Quad Core CPU, do you mean 2 processor 1 setup or 2 different servers?

I would look at getting less IP’s to start with and adding them statically as your needs grow. A host would be less likely to give you an issue if you were to request a /28 off the bat vs. /25 with no justification.

There are going to be numerous hosting companies which fit the bill for you. One thing you didn't list is a budget for your project.

Given that you won't need all that bandwidth to start with you might select a hosting provider which offers some sort of scalable bandwidth solution -- for instance multiple plans that you can move up into as you grow. That will allow you to start small and then expand as needed.

Northeast US means you're probably looking to service US and European customers. Softlayer may be a good choice with an east coast data center.

I recommend you compile a list of providers that meet your requirements and satisfy your budget. You, as the customer, have the benefit of being able read reviews and testimonials about each company here on WHT. Contact each provider you're interested in and narrow the list accordingly.

Best of luck!
