iGoogle, Facebook, Twitter Clones - Do they work?

I am interested in launching a site using one of the Clone Script sites. I would like to combine some of the functions of some of the social networking sites like facebook and twitter with an iGoogle Ajax script.

Does anyone have any recommendations for good cloned social sites and iGoogle? Are they any good? What are the downsides in scalability and performance? Are they original or are some of these open source?

Thanks!

Are there better clones out there?

Any suggestions on building an iGoogle clone from scratch?
Thanks.

Pretty much. I heard Kevin Rose (founder of Digg and Revision3) quote 'myspace clones' as being close to 1000 different domains doing the same thing. How many have you heard of? None?

Copying a big idea won't work, because the big idea guys already have it covered.
