Major Earthquake Shakes Central Alaska
unknown to me, while we were driving to a dinner, Interior alaska had a 7.9 earthquake about 250 miles north of anchorage.
My cousin said he was in the hotel and it started swaying back and forth for a good 30 seconds
Heard reports of damage to houses etc, and cracks in the roads etc...everything seems fine here in anchorage. Its all over national news lol

gosh, pretty big .. not so heavily populated up there ? there would have been quite a few casualties if more buildings had been around

right, the quake was .8 bigger then the san fran earthquake of ?89? (that was 7.1...this 7.9)
If it happened say around anchorage or any other large population mass, your talking major damage

just as well there's not a bigger population
if only severe earthquakes confined themselves to outback areas
any damage apart from highways ?

OT:
Everytime Gary posts those gorgeous pictures of the landscape, I want to move to Alaska. (I'm not talking about the earthquake).
Gary are you hiring by any chance? *wink, wink*
BTW, it looks like I can do some major speeding down those roads.

That was not a eathquake, that was all those OIL company trucks rolling in to start drilling as soon as Bush give em the OK.

I've been told by a friend, who's parents live in AK that they are expecting an even bigger earthquake, supposedly around 10 to 11 on the richter scale, ever heard anything about this? They refer to it as the "big one"

If you get any more pictures of the result of this earthquake can you send them to me? My email address is on my profile. I'd greatly appreciate it. Even if you send me pictures of just AK would be nice.
Note: do not send it to the Sales email address in my sig, send them to Lindsey@vortechhosting.com thanksVortech, Inc.
