Sexual Discrimination in the Industry

Do you think women should be allowed to run a company?

I love to spend money (As women do) but does that mean that I shouldn't be allowed to start my own company?

I've spoken to about 4 different people who have for some odd reason thought I was a Guy/Man until I've told them they have been interested and then things seem to just change.

It's kinda down heartening to feel that if I did go into my own business that I wouldn't be supported by Industry leaders over here and in other places.

The only acceptable reason for me for a no answer would be if the answer to the following question is no: Are Women allowed to start/operate companies in your country?

I'm not aware of any sexual discrimination in the hosting industry but that said I am also not aware of many women who are actually in the industry in a technical role.

Well I'm from the UK so yeah There's no legal reason I shouldn't be allowed to Operate my own Business.

It just gets to me a little, I by no means wish to start a business knowing it will fail due to my sex.

What makes you think it will? I think based upon your posts it's more likely to fail due to lack of determination/planning and oversaturated market place.

I believe there is no reason to have Sexism any where in the world. On the same terms, I believe that if anybody is sexist, it should be death row for them ...

But that may be just me. I believe the same result should happen to racists, religious, most politicians, etc as well. Living in this world is hard enough as it is. We don't need more evil people making it worse.

There's no lack of determination, I just dont think that anybody around will ever know everything and therfore will always need help. Myself as a start-out I would probably request more than the average Joe.

Planning, No i havn't done any planning im still very much researching before i begin any commitment. I'm not one for jumping into the deep end.

I know quite a few who are in the web hosting industry both personally and not. I don't see why women can't run their own company or web hosting business. If you know you can do a good job, have the skills and technical knowledge required, capital, then why not?

We have more than a few females here, one of them is a very respected member, another one is a community leader (admin), and I know there are several more, a topic was posted about it once.

Women have no problems here since they don't post things like "oh that dedicated server deal is so cute! " (that never happened, to my knowledge!)
