Partial cpanel access

I just bought a script where the owner does not want to give me the full source code and I do not want to give him the full access to my entire website, so is there a way to restrict the cpanel permission to only a directory so that he can install the script for me without giving him the full access?

Thanks.

To make this clear, the script is an independent tool that runs on its own database, all what I understood from the script owner that he wants to protect his source code from been nulled!! that is why he wants to install it by himself! otherwise I did ask him to let me install it by myself but he won't do that.
I was thinking if there is a way to assign users to ftp /directories through cpanel? but what about the database?

I wouldn't trust that...point out to him that even if he installs it himself that you still have access to the files, so him installing it is pointless. If he really wants to protect his software he needs to encode it with something like Ioncube.

If you really do want to go through with this though, just create a database and give him the information to it, and create a FTP account under your CPanel. Make sure you come up with a brand new password for him.

Although personally, I wouldn't give him access...

Thank you txitcs, I am going to give him a restricted ftp access just because I am really interested to see how he is going to achieve this, the only way I think of, he may wants to make it work only with my domain and then encrypt the files so that I won't be able to modify it later but again I am not sure if this is possible for him to do that, as how he is going to encrypt the files ?

You can encrypt php files with programs such as Ioncube and Zend Encoder.
