Looking for UK based, ASP.NET Host

Hi

I'm having a site developed which requires Windows 2003, ASP.net and IIS support. I've always used United Hosting in the past and found them to be absolutely brilliant, particularly when it comes to support, but they are unable to provide me with Windows 2003 hosting package.

Basically, I'm looking for the following:

- UK hosted
- Fast
- Excellent, swift support
- Easy scalability (I only need a shared package now, but may need more in the future)
- Preferably be able to have a dedicated IP address

I've seen the following offering from Fasthosts:

fasthosts.co.uk/hosting/windows%2Ddeveloper/ (sorry, can't post the full URL)

This seems to offer what I'd need but I'm always skeptical over statements like 'Unlimited website tracking'. Is there a better alternative?

Thanks!

Fasthosts aren't a great company from experience. Their support isn't particularly great and their network isn't very reliable.

Check out the offers section for a Windows host. Since you're going to be using .NET it would be best to run it in a native environment.

You'll have to forgive me, I'm an absolute noob, what do you mean by native environment?

You may check eukhost.com, they can provide a Windows web hosting package that suits your needs.

You will get a plenty of options from the offers section for windows web hosting. Just a bit curious, are you explictly looking for a webhost that offers Windows 2003? I mean many of them recently offer Windows 2008 and I believe that should not be a problem since your primary requirement is .net enviornment.

In any case UK will not so reach for the offers as say US used to be. So do not hope you have a lot of companies to review and choose from

Fasthostst is a big name provider in the UK. They should be able to back up their claims. A few others to consider: 1&1UK, UK2hosting.

Good Luck

I would recommend giving Discountasp.net a look. They support Windows 2003 and they have a data center in the UK. I have used them for a few years now and I am very happy with them.

Good luck in your search.

Full Disclosure: I work for Ultima Hosts Europe.

Did you require UK based support?
