Need some advice please.
Looking to get my dedi this friday, and was wondering if you had the choice what would you have outta the below and more importantly why?
Intel C2D E7200
1024 MB DDR RAM
250 GB 7.200RPM
AMD64 X2 4450E+
4096 MB DDR RAM
250 GB 7.200RPM
Note: will be running Directadmin.

But the RAM may be an issue with the OS you plan on using? What are you going to be using this for? (Sometimes RAM is better than speed)

It's mainly going to be used for forums, and the odd website. So there will be alot of connections at any given time.
Edit: CentOS 5.2 Or Debian 4.0r3 i can have as the OS.

If it is going to be a heavy database site aka a forum. I would really suggest you going with a SAS Drive or a Raptor drive for better performance you will notice a big difference if you have the traffic to warrant it.

If its a forum, go with 4GB. Forums are memory eaters and can easily kill a system with insufficient ram.

Intel will be your way to go. Maybe you can ask them to increase your RAM.
Forums usually tends to require more RAM compared to processor speed.More than decade with webhosting!
