Looking for Advice for High Traffic site

We currently have a website for our client developed on ASP.net with SQL

Its a straight forward web application with 2000 visitors per day

The traffic is going too heavy and its now at 130 GB per month

Our Queries :
Can we still have this site on a shared environment ?
If yes, suggest few providers offering high bandwidth

What other alternatives are there?

Raj

I believe, you should be fine with Shared hosting account. However, this would cost you good amount if you are going with a provider offering premium Tier - 1 bandwidth. BTW, what is your budget for this?

Avoid Shared with this type of load (most providers will find a reason to ban you). Go for a VPS or dedicated server and give your site the support it deserves.

I agree vps is cheap and you will mkae money with that traffic if you put a few ads on the page.

Wired Tree enjoys the highest reputation for VPS. They have a nice offer which is running out today. $50 for what seems to be a perfect product.

Otherwise there are a bunch of reseller offers, I have had a very good experience with Crucial Paradigm and can warmly suggest them. $20+

For advertising I would suggest anything but not google ads. Its revenue is peanuts. Try getting either a paid banner or sign up with some affiliate program. Choose some product/service which is related to your site. If you are tech savvy, I think hosting is a good service to go for. You can get paid up to $150 for every customer you provide.

Given the fact that you have 2k visitors means a lot. Even if you achieve a conversion rate of 0.1% you would be getting 2 sign ups a day!

Further, submit your site to Linkworth and they might have customers for you. Companies which would pay you good money (could be several hundred $ per month) for a link from your site.

Without knowing further details all this are just blind suggestions, but in every aspect much better than the peanuts from google ads.

Is that 2k unique visitors per day?

It seems you are developing something very interesting. Would you care sharing it with public? Or at least sending me a private message? I would really appreciate it!

Thank you and best regards!

Check out the VPS offer section here on WHT. It's good to see you are taking your site seriously enough to get a VPS. Good luck with your choice.

For a Windows VPS and using SQL Server, you should avoid low-end VPS with insufficient RAM and CPU allocation.

If you anticipate continued growth, you might want to consider a dedicated server to avoid moving your site twice.

Here's an inexpensive idea: Put the web site on a low to medium end windows vps but keep the shared account for the SQL db -- or maybe you can use the host's shared sql server anyway (this is assuming the host uses a dedicated server for shared sql db, as all decent hosts should).

Otherwise go with what DevTech said: beefy windows vps or dedicated windows server.

VPS is a good option but i would suggest to opt for the VPS with good Ram or for a low end Dedicated Server since you have a heavy traffic site.

You may also check semi-dedicated.

Can check JaguarPC. They have Failover Add-on with Semi-Dedicated Plan.
