How about this company(Dedicated Server).
Dear All:
I live in Asia, and I want to sell my own branding of hosting.
I prefer the solution is Dedicated Server.
I know SoftLayer or ThePlanet are the biggest 2 companies in U.S.
But I want to find the cheaper one for my business.
I found this site yesterday, it looks good and cheaper.
http://www.gigenet.com/index.html
Does anyone have some comments about this company?
Or somebody has the experience for this company??
Thanks!!
Best Regards
From Chung

The best option is to colocate, find a decent datacenter around you, buy some servers.
Personally I'd never buy from a company renting dedicated servers.

I find colocation to be quite expensive at times, and I'd prefer to rent the dedicated servers, setup cPanel (I think all other control panels turn people off as it has loads of features), and sell hosting. But each to his own I suppose

^Just gotta find a good dc
I used to pay softlayer, sure it's almost always perfect, but for how much you pay when theres issues its like , and I've had bad hardware and such, it's like wow O_O. I'd rather beable to go fix my own box's, regardless leaving softlayer I actually earn money now and was able to expand, 330 dollars amonth for two servers or whatever it was, now I pay not even a fraction. It's pretty much just BW costs

IMO, renting a dedi is more cost effective until you have a decent amount of servers, then colo. I wouldn't colo in a DC that wasn't within a couple hours drive from me personally.

Colo service is very expensive in my country...haha.
Of course the bandwidth, the uplink spec....etc, are very expensive too.
So that I want to find a good service and cheaper dedicated servers provider in U.S.
If I contact with the sales of SoftLayer or ThePlanet by phone call, will I get the cheaper price????
And does anyone have the experience for this company I port??
Thanks

It doesn't make sense when a phone call will get you lower prices... However, I'm sure these companies have special coupon codes that can obtain you a lower pricing. Since you are from Taiwan, I will suggest the Seattle location offered by SoftLayer, since it's at the West coast, it should offer better speed to Taiwan.

IMO I believe that renting servers (rather than collocating) is the appropriate way to go for *most* people. At least for those that are not collocating locally. Since the OP is in Asia but looking for services out of the US, that certainly applies to him.
I see people noting all of the time that collocation is cheaper but they often times forget about the support side of things.
In particular, when there's a problem with a collocated server you need to rely upon the DC staff for remote hands work. Usually that costs you hourly.
In addition, if they don't stock replacement parts specific to the type of server you've collocated (maybe they don't have a power supply appropriate for your failed one, or a replacement mainboard, or a replacement for the specific add-on board you use) then you'll either need to wait for them to obtain one (at your cost of course) or you need to ship them a replacement. Either way, there's potential for significant down time there.
Now, if you're local to the DC and willing to do your own work on the server(s) when there's a problem then it can be cheaper to collocate.
With specific regards to the OP; if your clients are mainly located Asia Pacific then I would suggest something on the West Coast of the US.

What type of dedicated servers are you wanting to resell? What location? What bandwidth specs? etc. This will help us point you to the right company.

I concur, tell us the specs you are looking for.
One dominant theme of this thread is "cheap". Cheap does not equal quality, cheap equals cheap. Perhaps Value is a better word. If you are looking for value, do some shopping, look in the offers section etc.
"It doesn't make sense when a phone call will get you lower prices..."
Yes it does...Anything that can personalize the experience from lives sales chat to a phone call (phone call being the best) will help both parties.
Good luck on your search, let the community (WHT) know how we can help you.

GigeNet is good, but they aren't the cheapest. You may want to take a look at ServerBeach and or someone alike. Best of Luck on your search!

Perhaps you are only 1/2 right. 99% of the time the provider will just say they had "discounted" it, which in fact is one of their offers or with some special coupons attached. And the same goes, 99% of the time the provider will list a much higher price on the site, waiting for somebody to get "discounts" from them.
