If it helps any, I'm in Phoenix and it takes a few minutes to load, sometimes.
I assume it's a load balanced cluster, perhaps one of the servers in the cluster is not happy.Last edited by Tyl3r; 04-10-2009 at 04:54 PM.

Replying to posts or making new ones is EXTREMELY slow. It takes about a minute for anything to post now.

It is not truely load balanced. It is round robin dns.

From a security standpoint, it should be load balanced so the webservers can be completely segregated from the interweb.Steven Ciaburri | Industry's Best Server Management - Rack911.com

I`m getting quite a lot of "lagging" today. Trying view a topic, it will just sit there doing nothing. I usually come back about ten or fifteen minutes later and it is better - usually!

I've noticed the slow "connecting to ..." myself although for me it doesn't seem to be connected to a New Post or Reply - anything - from posting, to selecting "New Posts" to clicking on a Forum Section - can provide the slow response.
At other times WHT responds just fine.
have a great net connection - it always seemed fast enough when it was in Virginia... perhaps a little more quick to load up now but I bet that is new hardware not new network location.
I can't quite recall when I started noticing the ... pause ... phenomena but if forced to guess I'd say between 12 and 24 hours ago, or after the last big shut down. Hard to tell, the days are just a blur for me lately between work and ripping out a bathroom at home.
Ironically as I post this I've noted in the past 10 minutes the situation has improved. Fingers crossed.“Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under
considerable economic stress at this period in history.”0

At least 1 out of every 7 times that I click on any thread or reply or whatever, it takes close to a minute and more to load the page. The other 6 times, it loads fine. When it starts to lag, I try stop load and click it again but it still takes forever.

Mostly loads very fast for me. However I get the occasional blip when it starts loading like a slug.

It's hit and miss with that. Originally, I noticed what you're talking about, then it stopped, then it started up again.
Keep in mind that page load times aren't ALWAYS going to be relative to network speed. They could just as esaily be relative to server and hardware load / usage.
Ahh yes, more baseless facts. If you can prove Softlayer's not PCI compliant, then by all means, do so. Otherwise, please, stop adding to the rumor mill. We've already got enough going around here.
Well, would you trust a company that claims to have "managed servers" after this incident? I think it's safe to say we'll probably see the iNet servers moving away from rackspace, given their share of the blame here.
Actually, not hard at all. A traceroute will tell you where it's at, in Dallas.
And WAYYY too overrated. I've been there a couple times server wise, and client wise. Their support is hardly "fanatical". I won't go through the horror stories again (they're publicly stated a few times), but they are definitely quite overrated and overpriced.Tom Whiting, WHMCS Guru extraordinaire
