    Outlook Express Mail Rules

Is there a way to write a rule so that if the "TO" field is anything other than one of your mailboxes, the message gets deleted?

For example, in Outlook Express will this mail rule work?

    ___________________________
Any To receipient Does not exist

    Then

    Delete message
    _________________________

What I am trying to eliminate are the emails that come in with stuff in the "To" field that is anything other than one of my mailboxes.

You can set rules to pass over emails if they meet certain criteria then have the last rule be to delete any emails that make it that far. That's how I do it and it works real good.

I do not know if "outlook" has rules but I know "Outlook Express" does. Look for Rules in the Tools menu.

Both Outlook and Outlook Express have rules. Outlook's rules are even more flexible than Outlook Express.

Outlook rules are very unreliable, in my experience at least. Every now and then it'll just dump all incoming mail in the Inbox instead of the appropriate folder.

Now Entourage (Outlook for Mac) has really nice rules

    filburt1,

I have a Mac, what's Entourage? What's so nice about its rules?

Entourage comes with Office X. The rules are just nice and simple and unlike Outlook XP's rules they always work and are very easy to set up.

I never had a problem with Outlook's rules. I do have a problem with Outlook and viruses. Which is why I don't use it any more.
