Something definatly doesnt add up here, Just been on your live chat and spoke to a "John" your username is host-6-Dan and your messages all end "Thank you Nick".

Also the "John" guy i spoke to didnt seem to know the facility in which the servers are housed, And when asked i got the response "An office"... Doesnt seem to add up, I REALLY don't think people are going to be sending you any credit card details via Email.

I'd beware of this provider folks, it seems the OP is a newbie 12 poster (Possibly a victim of the WHT Outage?)

And the domain was only registered on 20th Feb 2009. The support rep "John" says it was registered over a year ago. And says that host-engine owns the facility and its NY Based I cant find any info to back this up.

I wont be buying now... Good luck guys, Your going to need it asking people to EMAIL or even give you guys any Credit Card information.

This seems very odd, You are unable to accept PayPal, Why is that? And you request credit card information be sent to you via Email, Why is that? And your business is "Over a year old" yet your domain is only a month old (plus a few days).

Im very sorry i have no need to Speak to you Nick/Dan/John whoever you are, You will be lucky to get anybody to send you credit card details, i'm not here to "Bash" your business as i said Good Luck, i was just making it aware to those who may not be as cautious as myself.

How are credit cards processed once you have these details at your disposal? Also how come John said Dan AND Nick are offline at the moment? It doesnt seem right to me thats all.

I will not go send out my CC details through e-mail. Definitely not. Good packages, terrible way of sending payment. Thanks GDGAdmin for the information, really helped too. I could have bought one.

Hi Nick,

It looks like a few people beat me to this, but:

Could you please provide some more details? I see that you registered your domain about a month ago, apparently with a company in Switzerland. Your site doesn't mention anything about your company or the network, and the "forums" link doesn't go anywhere. It mentions that you've won awards, but the one that it shows is at findmyhost, which doesn't list your website. And your website is located at theplanet. And you paid to anonymize your WHOIS information, which is a big red flag. One of your two DNS servers is timing out. One of your DNS servers is also your webserver. Most of the couple of dozen websites that are also on your webserver have their DNS hosted at hostgator, not you or theplanet. Everything on your website is "blank" (e.g. no knowledge base entries, news, etc.).

Perhaps a test IP? Perhaps stating here whether or not you own your own facility, as someone claims he was told (but is clearly false)?
-Scott

People do your homework here & do not send in your credit card information. This reeks of a scam. What sort of legitimate company would have people manning live chats who do not know the complete details of an operation?

If you are not trying to scam anyone, then learn how to run a business properly. You are clearly going about it the wrong way.

Not taking sides here but I thought I should point out...http://toolbar.netcraft.com/site_rep...ost-engine.com

Domain was first seen sometime in 2005....may be they forgot to renew and it got dropped and the SAME company was miraculously was able to sign up for it again? which is almost impossible these days with dropped domains.

It's not a matter of "forcing" people to order - what you're doing is just basically inappropriate and probably unethical business practice as you are inviting people to send you sensitive financial information in a highly insecure manner.

You need a secure method of settling transactions: Paypal, 2CO, Google CO, merchant account/authorize.net, etc. etc.

Unless you're using GPG/PGP (and I don't see your public key in your posts), email is not and never will be a secure method of sending CC information. Even if you did have GPG/PGP I don't think I'd want my secure CC information sitting on your desktop/laptop.

I think you get the point by everyone bagging on you and I wish you the best but you need to "get real" about your business. It's not that hard to get online secure transaction capability.

asking that info to be sent clear in the clear is stupid, and well known to be.. cant you see why everyone doesnt trust you? you dont know what your doing apparently. pm me with your business info, name, age, social # so i can "just verify" your company.

i'd spy on this place with a magnifying glass before hand in my opinion.
