Hmm, maybe it is just me, but I find myself only productive under flourescent lighting. I have set up a small office here at home, but unfortunately it is incandescent lighting. Well, when I'm in the office I seem extremely motivated. But when I bring work home, I sit here and just get put to sleep.
I didn't have this problem where I used to live, as I had flourescent ceiling lights where my desk was, but since I have recently moved this room is just killing my productivity! Do any of you have similar problems or prefer a certain type of lighting?
I'm thinking of replacing the ceiling incandescent bulbs with those little flourescent ones and see if that helps
I have noticed the same thing. I've got track lights on the ceiling above my workstation which used to have just regular bulbs in them. I purchased some of the little flourescent bulbs that you can put into a standard lamp, or ceiling light. Since then, I do seem to be more creative, and get more done.
I had some fluorescent bulbs in my room where I used to live and I found myself more productive also. I'm thinking about putting in a couple since I have a smaller "room" now and several computers. Any less heat generated helps too as much as I'm awake. I've also noticed that using fluorescent bulbs in a room helps keep the heat down.

I think partly it has to do to the color temp that fluorescent lights have vs. incandescent lights.
fluorescent lights are generally in the so called 'cool' color temp while incandescent lights have a 'warm' color temp. What I think is happening is that the 'warm' color temp lights relax you... giving you a feeling of comfort. While the 'cool' color temp lights make you feel more umm... I dunno how to describe it... like you're in some sort of institution
