I need to have a private proxy which I want to share with 2 of my friends? What kind of hosting do I need? Also anybody who have experience with setting up private proxies? I only know of setting up web based proxy. Thank you

You mean an actual proxy to connect through? A shell account or VPS should be fine, as long as the host's AUP isn't violated.

But I'd think you'd probably be happier setting up a VPN.

vpn is the way to go as suggested, web proxy is nothing compared to what vpn can do.
