    http://www.2mhost.com/ ????

    Hello,

I host a very small site off a free service (brinkster.com) however I've been thinking of moving it to a paid service. I only average 10-15 hits per day, so I need something very minimal, and 2mhost offers a basic service for only $1.50 per month.

For a free site like mine it sounds almost too good to be true.... Does anyone have experience with this hosting service? Is it all it's cracked up to be?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

2MHost.com offers unlmited bandwidth which is really bad, so I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

Plus they're "site racists," as I like to call them. Just look at there Terms of Service:

Sorry... 2MHost Inc. can not allow its customers to operate Bulletin Boards. These applications simply consume too much bandwidth. In order to allow the operation of Bulletin Boards, we would have to charge a lot more. Instead, 2MHost Inc. takes pride in providing its clients with inexpensive, high-quality hosting.
Online/Offline Games and Anime Sites... Anime communties, PlayStation games Forums, news, reviews
Portals - Includes any size portal for any purpose (PHPNuke, PosNuke,..).
All image files (.GIF, .JPEG, .BMP, etc.) stored in an account on our servers must be 'linked' to web pages (.htm, .html) which reside within the same account.
Accounts containing numerous or large (over 500Kb) unlinked files are subject to warning, suspension or cancellation at the discretion of 2MHost Inc.'s administration.
Any host that choses to deny one's own interests excluding illegal files (possibly inclusing porn, anime, etc.) is site racism. Unless a host specifically caters towards a certain group. Which most don't, but would probably be successful if one existed (excluding porn/eccommerce).

Unless your free webhost is unreliable or your extremely unhappy would I suggest you switch. It is really a step down to most free hosts.

    Edited Addition:

I am NOT affiliated with any host nor do I own one. I own an Xbox website and am very happy with my hosting. This is just my opinion. Don't act like I am some competitor trying to mislead the facts. Read the Terms of Service and AUP (if they have one) and consider my opinion.

I had my site for a while at brinkster, and that was OK, until I wanted some more things. I didn't like their plans, so I moved elsewhere. I posted a request in the request forum and got some answers that I checked out. After searching here, I decided to go with one of them. So far, no problems. PM me if you want to know who they are.

just looking at those terms of service, they seem to suck, if they are indeed true.

you cant put anything except HTML on your site but the HTML that you put on there can be unlimited.

meaning that id basically have to find another host to put the rest of my sites content on?

Im just wondering on this point because unlimited without the option to store any images or anything seems pointless, it would be line going back to the olden days of the web where everything was text based, YUCK

    could someone please clarify ??

When the owner of a company cant speak very good english and doesnt have the best grammar in teh world either. I think I would go elsewhere. It takes brains to run a company. Just my 2 cents.

i think my terms is similar to the big name hostway.com,
    check it here:
    http://www.hostway.com/termofuse/index.htm

and the other big name host rocket:
    https://admin.hrwebservices.net/signupform.php
(terms of use in the end of page)

we host most kinds of sites, but we do not allow our server to be storage server .. this is plain easy to understand

and overall .. we list the terms in the first page of order forms, we list in Textarea + link to printable edition of the terms. we typed our terms short and clear and never tried to hide it like others so any customer can read it easy. and if user do not like it then he can search for another host!

Looks to me like you are allowed images on your site, but are not allowed to hotlink them. But also looks like that's about all you are allowed to do, a bit of html and a few graphics on your site.

You don't need to be great at English to be a decent host, but if you are going to put up your site in English rather than your own language, then you should at least have someone proof it who is decent in English spelling and grammar.

I looked at 2MHost a few months ago. I was puzzled by the fact that their CPanel had the ability to auto-install a forum in it, but that forums were not allowed according to the TOS. I wrote to ask about that. Never got a reply to the question. I went elsewhere. I figured if they aren't going to bother answering pre-sales questions, I wasn't going to be able to count on any after sales support either.

    Whoa.

I can accept the idea that a webmaster would want to be able to fully understand the webhost, and therefore want each to be fluent in the same language.

But I'm not going to accept the notion that only those who can speak or write English as a native has brains. The mere fact this host apparently can communicate in two, puts him one ahead of me.

BTW, "When the owner. . .can't speak very good english" should read "When the owner can't speak English very well."

It is always polite to email a potential customer back, even if you do or don't allow .pdf downloads. That is poor business ethnics to just ignore emails like that.

Gordo, you know what I mean. Even if he isnt American, when I listen to someone talk like he does, it reminds me of a kid. Its hard to understand what hes trying to say, and I would hate to have a decently hard question to ask, and get a mixed/messed up answer.

It would seem you only get answers to questions he deems worthy of answering anyway.
