Yep... the power issue is affecting the routers, so all servers are inaccessible.

This only effects the routers so I would asume its more of a local problem. Routers usually have their own independant backup power systems so any number of things could have happened to those or the routers themselves... all we can do now is wait for them to fix it and then tear into them with questions

even if you'r multihomed thousand times, you can still be knocked out.
I do hope it'll be back up soon, though

I already have access to my server at NAC and many other sites hosted there and have had that access back for about 5 minutes now. So it should be getting better across the board soon.

Uptime on servers unaffected, this was not a site-wide outage. That's *nice*.

I think there is another issue from UK. I have had several clients contact us within past hour saying it is unreachable and we didn't go down for a minute since we are in NJ and NYC.

All of my boxes but one came back up. It must be on the same net as the pwebtech.com box as I can not get there either.

Seems all of Site5 shared and dedicated servers are accessible again. Can't get to pwebtech from within NAC either.

    From NAC themselves:

    http://www.nac.net/outages.asp

28 October 2002 3:10:20 PM - Network Outage - Part of the UPS equipment in our Parsippany NJ location has failed which triggered a power shutdown. Power is currently up and running in bypass mode. We presently have a service technician in route to resolve this issue. More information will be provided when available.

We have all 7 of our NAC servers fully operational. 6 came back a while ago. There was just 1 that we were waiting on. It came back 5 minutes ago.

    From nac

This Incident is entitled 'Network Outage'

At this time we determined a fuse has blown in the UPS. A technician is currently in en route with the replacement part. ETR is about 3hours. During the repair time no power should be lost.

  37. #37
    I guess it's not a fuse anymore...
**UPDATE** - The problem with the UPS has been identified. We have determined that a internal power distribution device has failed. A technician is scheduled to be here to replace the part by 7:00 PM. Until that time we are confident that the power situation is stable.
