Can I run Cpanel on a 500Mhz celeron with 128MB ram, or will I need to upgrade to 256MB? I just got a small server, and it will only host a few of my small sites (using php and mysql). I don't need this machine maxed out, but I can upgrade the memory if absolutely needed.
Anyway, Since you're running a few sites using mysql, it's crucial to have enough ram for processes. 128MB is really not enough for cpanel as well as linux in general. I hope you have a big swap file. I would really suggest upgrading to 512 as you do not have the CPU power either.
Well... without anything but the normal Cpanel stuff running, memory is 25 - 33% used, but it jumps 17% with Interchange. Since I don't need it, I disabled it using the WHM Service manager, but it keeps restarting "instamagically". How can I prevent this from happening?
I may upgrade memory soon, but for now, it's only going to have 128MB.
Neo, I know I should go off topic, but please keep us folks round here up to date on Neopanel. It may have gone wrong once, but if it delivers what it promises, it's going to be one hell of a product...
