Changing user permissions on $home with plesk

    Hi,
We just have to recover from a crach and the system is made online again. Infact I had to shift data from old server manually to the new server. All user website data and psa configuration files were imported succesfully. Unfortunately, I forgot the import /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow. Which forced us to make each user account manually.

So, I made each user account manually but the $home (Home Directory) was just set to /home/$user to avoid confliction of user names and domains. Now I have to change each FTP usermode to his default domain home in order to work. I have around 400+ domains on the server and its quite difficult to do it by hand. Changing each user false home to real /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/domain.com

Also, when I change this manually, I got permission problem within the userhome. i-e, /usr/local/psa/vhosts/testdomain.com

    [[email protected] testdomain.com]# pwd
    /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/testdomain.com
    [[email protected] testdomain.com]# ls -al
    total 52
    dr-xr-xr-x 11 root apache 4096 Oct 22 01:28 .
    drwxr-x--x 376 root root 12288 Oct 25 01:57 ..
    drwxr-xr-x 4 10385 psacln 4096 Oct 22 01:28 anon_ftp
    dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Oct 22 01:28 bin
    drwxr-xr-x 2 10385 psacln 4096 Sep 10 2001 cgi-bin
    drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Oct 22 01:28 conf
    drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Oct 22 01:28 error_docs
    drwxr-xr-x 9 10385 psacln 4096 Oct 22 01:28 httpdocs
    drwxr-xr-x 2 48 48 4096 Oct 23 13:42 logs
    drwxr-xr-x 2 48 48 4096 Oct 22 01:28 pd
    drwxr-xr-x 2 48 48 4096 Oct 22 01:28 web_users
You see incorrect permissions. Doing each permission change by hand would be a difficult talk. Does plesk offer some kind of utilities to fix that problem?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Goni

I think you haven't read my post carefully. We were one of the victims of FDCServers. So, infact we didn't have got the data yet and I was making the machine online again from the other backup I had. Plesk backup utilities have nothing to do with my situation.
