    thanx debug but it's not what I'm looking for. All I need is a script that:

    - gets the user input (clear password)
    - outputs this password crypted

    thanks should you know one

    Well they use .htaccess and .htpasswd to secure the folders.

    Basically all their script does is take in a username and password then issue a shell command, "htpasswd -b /path/to/directory/.htpasswd {username entered} {password entered}

    Their script doesn't actually encrypt the password.

    If all you need is a script to do one way encryption on a password.

    PHP Code:
    <?
    $password
    $_POST["password"];

    $password crypt($password); // now the password is encrypted.
    ?>
    <?
    header("Location: http://www.hostevolve.com/");
    ?>
