In need of a CMS or News Publisher...

I am currently looking for something that will give me similar results to these sites here:

    www.hardocp.com
    www.virtual-hideout.net
    www.anandtech.com

Something that will allow me to add news, and reviews about products, maybe a few ad's a long the side. I also run vBulletin on the site so if it could pull polls and such from the forum that would be awesome.

Could anyone tell me what the sites above are using and/or some good software that will allow me to do something similar?!

    Thanks,

    Michael

It looks to me as if they coded thier own site, and are not using a nuke or something similar... This could be a wrong assumption though.

The best route to go at it is code your own, or pay someone to do it for you. Cost depends on complexity of the cms, naturally!

If that isn't an option, you may want to have a look at vbportal, or postnuke. I havent heard much good about vbportal, then again, haven't heard much on it atall... let alone used it personally.

PostNuke isn't all that bad *ducks from the nuke haters* but I dont use it. I have - tried this one.

I think phpWebSite is the best, IMO... but dont know off-hand how it works (if at all) with vB.

Your best bet is to code it yourself if you dont want something that looks like everyone elses and want all of those options. If you are looking to code it yourself, take a look at Coranto (Perl) which is used:

    http://www.arsware.org/
    http://www.arstechnica.com/
    http://coranto.gweilo.org/
    http://www.saturnfans.com/Cars/Futur...dbyhonda.shtml

I intergrates with UBB, vBull and phpBB as well as many other features and you have complete comtrol over it, but you will need to code your site yourself.

The problem in that is I dont know how to code something like that at all. So a script I can either download and install would be best for me.

ezPublish is THE answer for all of your needs, its free, have many functions that no other CMS does and you have 100% on look of your site.

Bad part: () Very hard to install and very hard to make your first theme/look....... I still couldn't find out about it, so I can't help you with it.

On the other thoughts, PostNuke's time is over, PHP-Nuke have gone waaaaaay ahed from any other fork of nukes, the features.......MUUUUUUUUUAH! Check it out, you'll love it.

I run a personal blog site and the blogging system is powered by coranto. The good thing about coranto is that it only operates as the news engine. Every single other thing is customizable. Template design etc. is all made by you.
