Good News For CPanel

It seems accounts can now be moved without knowing the root password, with just the account password. 5.0.0 Build 152 or higher. Anyone tried this yet?

I just explored this a bit further and I think it may only be for users with SU access, although not tried it yet.

That's sounds really good.

Are you sure? Where did you get the info?

That would be really awsome. If anyone has anymore info please do post away.

I mean downloading and then restoring an account is ok, but if you could use the copy feature without root, that would be even better.

I tried it today and it did not create any of the database's on my new account. I have not looked to see if the rest is correct yet.

I was hoping it would fully transfer...

everything. That's too bad about the data base.

Hope they fix that at some point, it would be nice to transfer the files in full without worrying about root.

Sounds like an excellent source to me.

Thanks. I will read over the info.
Still sounds like a step in the right
direction.

Sounds as if it could be potentially dangerous to me. Time to play around with it...

Hmmm...

I just moved over 29 accounts Friday night using this tool and all databases moved fine!?

Only thing I can really see that may not be working is addon domains...

We have a reseller moving to their own box who has successfully used this function with the account password. Everything worked fine with the exception of about half the parked/pointed domains. Easy enough to reset.
