Uunet
Anyone know a way to contact UUNET? UUNET is hosting http://www.directadvertiser.com which sells software that allows people to send messages to the screen of ANY Windows NT/2000/XP address and no one reads UUNET's abuse address.

Are you talking about the messenger service on XP/2000/NT?
(not msn messenger)
If so, this allows anyone with your I.P. address to send you a message pop up.
If you are behind a firewall you are most likely safe (as long as port 139 is blocked).
If anyone else is having the same problem
Here are instructions to turn it off.
1.
Click on the Start button and open the control panel.
2.
Open the Performance and Maintenance control panel and go to Administrative Tools.
3.
Now double-click on Services, then scroll to Messenger.
4.
Double-click Messenger and click Stop to stop the service.
5.
Change the startup type to Disable
