    spammer: supersize/velocity hosting

once again, i'm posting this because i'm getting unsolicited email from another hosting company, this time, Supersize Hosting (1-866-858-4678)

i post here because i strongly believe hosters should be taken to task for taking a slimy approach to obtaining new customers.

    please, don't patronize them.

Hmm, well they do offer a remove link. 90% those links don't work though (I've noticed that).

yes, they sure do. but often spammers use this to verify they have a good email address, so you should never click on them or respond.

it's still spam--i never asked for it and they do not indicate that i had signed up to receive the mail via some other site (which i never have).

the best key is just to delete. but in this business, i think it's wrong to play this game to get new customers. and i hope nobody participates or gives them any business.

They seem kind of expensive. I thought it was only about 59 cents to supersize something.

    Very expensive.

You should forward to everyone you know and ask them to waste an hour on the toll free number.

Yep, I got spammed from them too. I paid them a visit through live help.

Talked to "Steve" and gave him an ear full about his company spamming people. LOL, I also asked why the other Florida hosting companies (some banned at WHT) also has a "Steve" working their live help desk. Of course, no answer.

Like all the rest of the times (different companies) I have talked to Steve he quickly changed the subject... "have you looked at our hosting plans?"

As seen throughout WHT, these guys are notorious spammers. Somehow we have to shut all their companies down.

I have also received several of those emails. Everytime I get one I forward it to Spamcop.net and let them handle it. They send abuse reports to them, their isp, or anyone that is referenced.

i received an email from hostvelocity saying this is not them. in case anyone is confusing my post mentioning velocity hosting and construing that to be hostvelocity.

i have no way to verify if velocity hosting is not host velocity and velocity systems. i called the 800 number i listed and it was indeed 'velocity hosting'. if there is a mixup, i've already received a cranky email asking me to get my facts straight and grind my 'axe' elsewhere.

i have no other facts to go off of, so you can make up your mind who is whom. all i know is that the name velocity seems to be not only tired, but overused in the hosting biz. cheers.
