New Windows Virus?
Today suddenly I encountered a huge number of files with .eml extension and 1008Kb length on our servers. (actually 1300 files)
I removed files but after 30 minutes there was another 1200 files. Is this a new virus or someone has seen it before.
I was unable to find a match on symantec website. Can someone help ?
By the way I forget to say that file names are chosen randomly. (some examples: saddam.eml, readme.eml, odbcconnection.eml , ... and even multilanguage names).
It's not a virus, but you probably have your SMTP server on and it's an open relay. What folder are the emails in? Stop the SMTP service now and let me know where the .eml files are located.

I have not installed IIS, SMTP etc. It's just used as a SQL server.
.eml files are everywhere. In every directory on server, even root of drives. Without search function it is almost impossible to remove those files as they are in every directory.
I think its a new virus. I think it is intended to hang up server by using all the space on drives.
It is a virus. I have cleaned it before from a customer's computer.
