Will Colo for Food, or at least a new backup server....
Guys,
Here's the bottom line. I've speced out this very sweet Network Backup System. But the bosses nixed the idea. However I was able to plead, beg, and convince one of them the error of his ways. We agreed that if I filled up 2 racks full of servers that I could get my uber Network Backup System.
So, here's what I'll do. $25.00 for any server up to 8U, 1 IP, 1 Ethernet, 1 Power, 24x7 free reboots. As for the bandwidth 50GB of transfer for $10.00/month. Cabling fee a measley $20.00. Your server will be located inside the beeeeyouutiful Colo4Dallas, with a wonderul view of everyone else paying too much!
We have two cages in Colo4Dallas, 2 backbones, and we are currently adding a third. I have four LOCAL UNIX/NT System Administrators on staff. I can have any one of them on site in thirty minutes. Our company has been in business since 1996 and doing Colo since 1999. One of our System Administrators is a listed FreeBSD contributer, another has 20+ years on the job.
We are a privately held Texas corporation, never filed for bankruptcy or protection. In addition we have been profitable since 1997.
In case you are not familiar with Colo4Dallas, here's the stats.

What type's the bandwidth? I assume the server must be rackmount--is that right?
Please PM me about signing up.
Thanks!

Darn, pitty you can't offer dedicated servers. I live in Europe, so Colo in the USA is pretty useless to me...
How much would a mix of Cogent and level3 be (BGP) per gigabyte (roughly) and is there any way you can offer dedicated servers?

I was hoping to get my new server sorted out by Monday or Tuesday next week. Any chance you'll know more before then? I don't actually need the server by then, just some information.
