PERL Script Debugging in trade for FREE hosting

    Hello,

I have TWO perl scripts that I am having issues with.

One is Links 2.0 from Gossamer-Threads
Two is WW Downloader 2 from World Wide Creations

The issue with BOTH are that they simply WILL not send ANY email from the server, no matter what I do. The script creates NO error in log, browser or anything.

EVERYTHING works, EXCEPT sending email through sendmail.

If someone could help me get this fixed, I am willing to trade 6 MONTHS worth of free hosting. As long as it is fixed, you will get the hosting.

Please help, I really need it!

    Thank you!

    icehole,

    Thank you for your reply!

The SMTP must be configured correctly, because OTHER perl scripts can send email without a problem.

I have gone through ever possible way of getting this to work.
My host has even paid ther datacenter to take a look at the script, and they didn't fix it. Go figure

The path to perl is correct, everything is CHMODDED correctly,
no error message apprears in logs or web browser, I have checked everything else to be correct. hehe

    Thanks!

I've found that when the mail doesn't go out like that (mysteriously) the problem ends up being that the script either doesn't have a To: or From: address specified or they are invalid email formats. Make sure you have these two things set. I've found some sendmail setups require a Return-path: email in the header as well.

If this is still a problem contact me and I can try to help you
