Well, 1500 gigs per month is going to be a little over 45 mbp/s constant, 24/7, over a months period of time. I've seen piece of **** p4's with crappy motherboards and ide hard drives push 80 mbp/s via http. ftp usually consumes alot more bandwidth for the same amount of cpu time, so if you're doing alot of ftp you'll need even less hardware. I'd say dual p3 1+ ghz, 1 gig of PC133 ECC SDRAM, and scsi disks (Raid, or not, it dosent really matter) should do what you want comfortably. Just remember a second proccessor isnt a substitute for a second machine.
