Monthly Webhosting NET income
This is a poll just to see what my fellow webhosters are making as of NET monthly income. That is after factoring out all the costs.

Ya I guess its hard to figure out if these results are true or not.
So far, I can say lots of startup, few are struggling and many are making good money (that is if the results were true)

The problem with these polls is you could put in a top figure of 100,000 a month + and someone would tick it.
To get rackshack's headersurfer to reply would require 100 billion dollars + (Austin Powers Voice)Matt Pearce

From these results, and if they are accurate to +/- 10% I think it is like the following:
- Good number of hosts are making good monthly income.
- Respectively, there is similar number of hosts that are starting their Web Hosting business.
- On the other hand there is around 20% or more either expanding their Web Hosting business or struggling with it.
That is my opinion only, I'd be interested to hear yours!Reliability • Performance • Integrity

I have no idea what is so strange about this!!
If there is expected to be 1 Billing Internet Users in 2005 (1,000,000,000). Then on a ratio of 100 users per 1 website, you would expect around 10 Million (10,000,000) websites need to be hosted.
A successful business should grab around 0.10%. That is around 10,000 websites hosted. If charging $10/mo. that will be around $100,000 / mo. Take 50% advertisin cost, you end up with $50,000 a month, take 75% equipments and staffs cost, that is around $12,500 Net Monthly.
However, my calculations are pretty exaggerated. My point, a good business plan and marketing, on the long term growing slowly, you could achieve Monthly Net of over $5,000. (I never said its easy! But its possible)Reliability • Performance • Integrity

Honestly as a small host in business for just 2 years and after having a couple of huge problems when I owned my own equipment and having to rebound from that debacle I am not doing so bad, though not as good as I would like to, probably netting about 200 a month now. But that is more than I was making at the part time job I was holding down before I got into this. My costs are low because I run the company on my own, so I should be able to keep them that way.
In the end though I am a struggling small businessman who needs more money to make more money, I can't advertise because I don't make enough to do it, and I can't get any investment money because of my size. I have yet to try the SBA because I don't think they will give me money. It stinks being the little guy, but I love the business and will keep going till I get where I want to be even if I do it all on my own.
