Is there any way that I can find out the following information re a url:

>what is the size of the hosted site?

>whether it is on a shared server or on a dedicated server?

>what is the application sofware utilised on the site?

Dun think that is possible from an externally source...

>whether it is on a shared server or on a dedicated server?

well usually a whois can you tell you. most virtual sites do not have there own nameservers..

>what is the application sofware utilised on the site?

well if its something bought of the shelf, there is some copy right info at the footer of each page created... if it is something custom made, then its no possible to find out.. you could email the website owner and ask though

I'm still wondering why something would be concerned about what a site is running (as per this example)..

Just a Guess...

When I was wondering the identical things, I was working on some very specific target marketing, a group of sites I wanted to host, and I wanted to know what to quote them when I walked in the door/made the initial contact.

I don't know about this particular person, but that was my goal, "back when..."
