    Post 1 Server Tech Needed

Hello We require One Server Tech,

English Speaking but bi-lingual is great too
Either USA or UK or Aussie Based
    References
Likes to work as a team
Cpanel/WHM/H-Sphere/Plesk Linux red hat Great Knowledge
    Kernel Knowledge
    Good Customer Skills
    Able to use PHPlive Support

    Time:
Needs to be online a bit during the day to answer Support requests - both hosting clients and managed server clients
Needs to be able to help in new sever setup.

    Payment:
    Our techs work like this,
They are in charge of one server fully and they get payment for that BUT other techs have access to their server and also help with requests etc for it. Payment is around US$60-70/month PER server that you are in charge of (i.e the primary in charge person), you grow with us.

We are soon looking into offering a flat rate for all server techs.

We have been signing up about 2 - 3 Managed server clients a week of late.

This job is for a person that perhaps has all the knowledge and is on the net a lot and wants to make some cash.

Payment is by Pay Pal only.
You are also required to have a Mobile phone so we can have messages sent to you in emergancys.

Did you say $60-70 per month?

How many hours do you expect techs to work?

What other benifits do you give the techs?

    Just a word of caution:
These people make a ton of promises to employees they can't keep. They hire employees, make promises "we're going to put you to work in the next day or so" and don't, but expect you to work their support desk for pennies.
Don't expect to actually "WORK" for these people, unless you love support desk work for nothing.

Firstly, ikiwi posted here a few weeks back, asking for techs, so I applied, and was hired.
When I was hired, I was told "We'll have servers up in the next few days for you to manage".

I waited two weeks, and was constantly promised 'We'll have 'em for you in a day or so', all the while I was working on helpdesk matters (for quite cheap prices).

partially through this, they came to me and asked me (repeatedly) to setup monitorin services on servers that I had nothing to do with for nothing, no fees, and balked when I quoted 'em a discounted price.

Eventually, I got fed up and said cancel my services, etc, but this was some 2-3 weeks after getting hired, and constantly being lied to, told 'we'll have a server for you in the next day or two', them hiring more server techs and putting THEM to work.

Again, just be careful here, these people can't be trusted as employers. i'm not trying to "slam" anyone, so I'm just going to forget this thread exists, but the truth needs to be told. I'd highly advise anyone getting into business with them to get a WRITTEN, legal contract from them, because they make all kinds of promises they just can't keep.

Since my questions got sidetracked, here they are again (with additions)

Is each tech in charge of 1 system, or mulitple systems?
